Can i use snowmobile oil in my bike?

ive got a 125 2 stroke and i dont have alot of money for motorcycle specific oil. i was wondering. whats wrong with just putting a low ash snowmobile oil in my bike for 5 or 6 dollars cheaper? will it lessen the life of anything on the bike.
