Hip hop: are freestyles still of the dome?

When I listen to freestyle off youtube some of the lyrics are too witty to come of the dome like lil wayne said in "run this town" freestyle "young money run this- towns countries, I still eat rappers Mmmmm scremchus" its just that in the heat of the moment it would be kinda hard to come up with somethin like that. Than drake! Don't get me started as a professional rap artist he should have known not too pre write lyrics than use them for a freestyle like come one who wouldn't know what he was spittin was not off the head spittin punchlines and having witty deliveries smh. Has the meaning of freestyle changed?
