What can I do to help my helix piercing feel better?

On June 24th I went to Gypsy Tears, a professional piercing/tattoo shop, and had my cartilage pierced. The first day or so it was not sore at all, but now I am feeling a dull pain around that piercing. It is not swollen, but it is a little red (It gets even more red after I clean it). I know that with any piercing, especially cartilage piercings, there will be after pain. I am just wondering, is there anything I can do to lessen the pain? I should mention that is this my first piercing other than my lobes. Thanks for all of your help!
