I need your opinion on room color?

I live in a small apartment and the living room and bedroom are basically the same room so whatever color I choose for the walls will be in both spaces. The colors I'd like to use are eau de nil or a sage green, because my curtians are already that color and I have some throw pillows that are as well, plus I really like the color, peacock blue, and old gold color. The problem I have is that: 1. I don't want people to walk in and think a woman lives here, which Is why I changed my mind about gold being the color of the walls, but I'm still open to it given the responses. 2. i want the room to seem larger and there isn't much natural light to come in, hence why i thought of gold in the first place, and because i have a gold colored chair, 3. whatever isn't the color of the walls will be used in the furniture because I'm having them all reupholstered, and the other color will be the accents, like the pillows, etc... Those are the colors I want to use the most, but if anyone has any other colors to throw in the mix then feel free to state them
